So this is my first blog post, and I think it's going to be mighty fine. These past couple of days have been rather interesting for me, because I have reconnected with my youth in the most fantastic way.
I have rediscovered Sesame Street. YouTube has successfully reminded me of how awesome my childhood was.
According to Wikipedia (that's right, I reference Wikipedia. Deal with it), Sesame Street premiered on November 10, 1969. That was just a good year, and not just because of the hippies. Jim Henson's lovable band of Muppets first appeared on our television screens 40 years ago, and today it is still a big part of everyone's youth.
So, in celebration of this remarkable milestone, I have done what any self-respecting child born in the '80's would do. I changed my Facebook picture to an image of Snuffleupagus, and spent the past two lunch hours YouTube binging all my favourite Sesame Street skits. My fellow PR classmates, if you were perturbed by my muffled shrieks of laughter, its only because I had long forgotten how amazing the Yip Yip Martians are.
Nothing better.
My wonderful boyfriend and I have also decided that we are going to don Yip Yip costumes for Halloween 2010, and subsequently blow the minds of humanity the world over.
I probably watched too much TV for my own good as a child, but here is a small list of some of my favourites (or the ones I can remember, anyway):
Sesame Street
Barney (don't judge)
Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (the original, duh)
He-Man and She-Ra!
The Three Stooges
Tailspin
Duck Tales
The Real Ghostbusters
Join In
Under The Umbrella Tree
Sharon, Lois and Bram's Elephant Show!
to name a few. I could go on and on and on. Those were the days.
I hope that you enjoyed my little trip down memory lane. I ask you now, members of the Blogosphere, what awesome television shows did YOU watch as a child?
♥♥♥,
Monica

Another kick ass buy
Seriously, the 80's was the best era for cartoons with the early 90's being the second best with toons like X-men, Spiderman and Life with Louie
