TA-DAA!!
Each square on this lovely quilt is a t-shirt that I either purchased or received throughout my years in Alpha Phi Women's Fraternity at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. I am so glad that I have something to remember all the events and themes by, in a way that can be saved rather than stored away. I totally cried when I finished it.

I used the toga that I wore to every toga party during university as the trim on my quilt.
This project took much longer than I thought it would (I still blame the first sewing machine, grrr), but the results were well worth it. So there it is, ladies and gentlemen, my Alpha Phi quilt! I'd like to give a great big thanks to everyone who has read my blog and supported me through this process, you're all truely wonderful. I'm excited to always have a little piece of sisterhood with me.

ReplyDeleteSo proud of you for finally finishing it! It looks amazing. I still can't decide what I should do with mine <3 Jill
ReplyDeleteHey - Will you make me one with my old Aphi shirts?
ReplyDeleteI will pay you! And for all shipping costs as well.

It looks absolutely gorgeous, Monica!!
ReplyDeleteAlso I think it's funny that you said the trim is from the Toga you wore to every Toga party in University... I didn't go to a single Toga party lol.
I really like your idea. I might steal it ... I have so much residence stuff. Would you hate?
Thanks for the positive comments, guys! To Bexx and Celine, I would love to make blankets for you but I have absolutely no materials up here! There isn't even a Fabricland store in Fort McMurray, and I am definitely not going to buy a sewing machine from Zellers lol. But I am planning on getting a really good sewing machine soon so I'll let you know if you're still interested. You too, Jill! I'll make you a sparkly one.
ReplyDeleteJennifer, there would be no hate for your residence quilt. I think you should do it, and blog your progress!
